With the ‘Year of the Dragon’ beginning soon it was decisively time to quickly take stock and consider what the bike might be receiving in the terms of personalisation this year.
Last year saw the addition of the touring pegs & mirrors, a rather sizable financial commitment considering the current climate, but with a huge quality of life bonus in all aspects of travel. While I am not sure the bike is going to need anything that transformative again, I do have my eye on a couple of useful mods:
Let there be light!
With the release of the new Meteor 350 Aurora being released late last year, we caught sight of the all new LED lamp being deployed to the J frame bikes at last. According to some fairly reliable rumours the full headlight unit will be available as a spare part at some point in 2024. As someone who commutes down some fairly poorly lit roads, I can’t think of a negative to this upgrade.
Maybe a farkle.
I’ve been eyeing up some rather fancy looking handle bar wraps in a fetching shade of brown. I’m not sure they would actually provide any real benefit to me as a rider, they are rather nice looking though! I’ll try and talk myself out of them in the coming months (probably after paying my emissions tax).
So, there we have it for the new year, hopefully I can squeeze in a pair of gloves too!
