Valheru Rides!

I saw a post earlier today that really vexed me, I’d love to say it was a pure one off and I am massively overreacting over the whole situation, but I’ve seen several like it recently and it seems to be some form of fad.

It’s the usual story of a motorcycle making some lovely brarp noises around some twisty bends, sounds great……then comes the annoying part: “Send this to someone who rides an EV to remind them what they are missing!”

I’m not posting any screenshots of the post/images/vids in question as I don’t think they are deserving of any form of traffic over this. I don’t know if they are straight up rage farming, or are in some form of misguided notion they can convert these riders. You can take my word from it that these do seem to be increasingly common on various social medias.

But what are they missing?

A lot of the folk I know who own and ride Electric motorcycles, do so for a set of often totally different reasons from their ICE brothers in arms. I’ve lost count of the time someone on Bluesky has spotted one of the latest EV’s and remarked that this might actually get them interested in two wheeled transport, the new ‘Flying Flea’ was a perfect example of that. It’s often a different crowd who want different things, but still prefer 2 wheels.

So the answer imho, is probably nothing. The key thing is that despite our differences in approach, we are both on two wheels getting very similar things from our steeds, regardless of what actually powers them. Bikers need to look beyond the frankly childish factionalism which is being evoked here and concentrate on the real enemies: Stupidly big cars.
